USN and USMC riders

Any of you guys taken the new mandatory MSF Military Sportbike course yet?

I took it today, and although rudimentary the class work drummed up some good discussion and I got a lot of good points out of the riding portion. Went out and hit some of my favorite twisties and found myself cutting much cleaner lines and much faster speeds than I used to be comfortable with. THAT'S NOT THE POINT OF THE COURSE, however it will make you a better rider without a doubt. Oh yeah, and it's mandatory.

Everyone should take some classes. As they say in the car world "tighten the nut behind the wheel first". Probably the best bang for the $ in improving lap times, safety and overall enjoyment of riding....Actually glad USAR makes us take this course too. Well worth the time.

Anyone doing the Cali superbike course in Vegas in November? I should be there.....

Haven't taken it at MARCORLOGCOM, yet. Funny, the most detail I've heard about the course so far has been from a retired AF master-whatever-airman I met at the Indy GP. I think a few of us are going to try to link up with him--he's an instructor for it. I have no doubt we can all pick up something from it, although I'm skeptical about learning more there than I can at Road Atlanta, Jennings, or Barber (Willow for you lucky CAMPEN folks or VIR for CLNC)...

It's not my fault you guys have lowered and debased yourselves to 90 day "deployments" and Bronze Stars for PAO's that do 45 days in theater. The Starbucks Warriors will carry on though right? I mean who can compete with the virtual Air Force?

I'm a Marine and I've taken the course at Miramar, its was cake and i felt like i was being baby fed information in a pace that was going almost backwards. I was bored shitless and felt my instructor could learn a thing or two. He rode a cruiser but told everyone out there he could coudl jump on our sportbike and school us. While some i do believe but I'd love to see him jump on my 06 R6 track bike and school me. Then at the end of the day he blasted out of hte parking lot on his whatever cruiser he had dragging the feet panels and he swerved out of the parking lot. I was hoping he dumped it.

and one more thing, im in Iraq right now and I work directly wiht the Airforcing moving cargo in and out of our base and they are on a 7 month deployment just like we are and some of these guys are on their 4th tour.

why does someone always have to talk sh*t about another service?

Yeah, we're all on the same team, duh. Don't know about 90 day deployments, mine have always been at least 120, and don't think anybody in AWACS has ever gotten a bronze star either, as far as virtual stuff, we have to do that since the other services are taking all the money for the war on terrorism, I'll take a tall latte double shot please!

Rowdy-thanks for your service dude, takes balls to be in the fight and not just talk about it, most respect for all service members, except the ones who bag on the AF.
