USMC...Visiting 29 Palms, CA?

My husband is going to be at MOS school in 29 Palms for 0621 Field Radio Operator...first does anyone have some good information about the training for that MOS...length of the schooling? Mostly I'm trying to figure out how I can get to 29 Palms. Does anyone know the closes commercialal airport that I could fly into? Thanks in advance!

Palm Springs or Ontario would be your best bet. My question is why would you want ot go out there? 29 Palms is a terrible place to go.

It is roughly 48 days of training from the day he picks up class. Many Marines at MCCES (includes Field Radio Operators Course) have to wait at least a week or two in order to pick up classes. The nearest major airport is in Ontario. That's the airport I use personally.

The school is two months, but they very often stay longer. I was there three months. And I know all about the training, but this is info for him and not for you.

The closest airport is Palm Springs Airport. That is the nearest large city. To fly there will be expensive. Ontario International Airport is farther away, but much cheaper. Either location you have to drive at least one hour.

He will be a student when there. It is best you let him focus on his schooling and it is not always wise to go visit him. Visiting can cause many issues for him. If you must visit then have him give you set dates when it would be good for him. He will not know this until he arrives in his class.
