USMC ranking in boot camp?

Im a senior (17 years old) and im a eagle scout. Im thinking about going to the marines and if i do im going go in with a friend. He said since im a eagle scout ill go in as a E-2, and then since im going in with a friend ill go in as a E-3. is it true? Also if i go to a college with a NROTC program will that raise my rank or just help me to become a Officer.
Im not look for free hand outs. im looking for a bigger pay check.
i have always work hard for everthing in life and im not afraid of hard work.
 
The USMC does not allow you to get E3 right off the bat. The highest rank you will get going in is E2.

You really should try earning your rank and stop looking for free handouts.You will feel better when you earn it.
 
You'll get E2 for your eagle scout stuff.....thats all you'll get unless your the honor grad at boot camp. You have to have a BA degree to become an officer.
