Using Tungsten T as an Ebook Reader

Thank you very much for all the information - I'll be up and running in no time now!

In between posts I was actually using Calibre to convert some books to palm format, so I will have something to play around with as I try out all the recommendations. I've got a lot of books in more than one format, so I should be able to see which reader will open different formats.

I do love messing about with this kind of thing! :D

Ereader is a nice ebook reader for Palm. You can download it for free from the ereader.com website. Callibre will convert to Palmdoc format, which it reads. Also, you can get many free books in ereader format from places like Manybooks.net and memoware, so you don't have to buy ereader books. If you do but ereader books, they have drm protection, so cannot be converted for any other ereader.

Thanks for a quick reply. :)

I have loads of ebooks that I read on my laptop at the moment using Calibre or Kindle for the PC, so I just need a reader programme that works on my Palm.

It has been such a long time since I used the Palm and I have cleaned it up at some point, so that only the basic applications are on it at the moment and a reader is not one of them.

I've just downloaded a few to try though, so I'll get there. I just wondered if anyone would recommend any specific reader apps.

Have to admit I am really rusty about using the Palm full stop and I'll have to get back to basics! :D

I am not familiar with the Tungsten T but with every Palm I have owned, except the 22, you can download the ereader software when you buy the book. Palm has good ereader software. It is a prc or prd extension, though.

I can't afford to buy an ebook reader and I don't use my Tungsten T any more, so I wondered if there was an application I could install on it to use it as an ebook reader. I think the OS is V4.5 (can't remember how to check this!).

Can anyone recommend a programme(s) for this? I don't mind converting file types, if that's what is necessary.

Thanks. :)
