Using the tachometer to change gears for 07 Honda CBR 600?

I bought a Honda Cbr 600, and just wanted to know at about what point on the tachometer should I begin to switch gears? Basically, what is recommended rpm change to best protect the engine, when would you recommend switching into a higher/ lower gear?

Shifting between 4500 and 6500rpm would be considered light duty.
Very little can be done to damage this engine as long as you follow your owner's manual.

I have a 900cc engine and don't really watch the tachometer any more and rely more on engine sound and speed when shifting. It has become second nature as it will with you as well.

I never look at my tach to determine when to shift. Listen to the engine, it will tell you. Only reason for a tach in my eyes is to prevent and overrev. and MAYBE I will glance at it.

Look at your environment not the tach, you'll live longer...
