Okay, so this might be kind of a confusing question because I am so not tech-savvy, but hopefully someone out there can understand it and answer it for me.
I'm currently on a 2-year contract with AT&T and have one of those free phones they give you when you first sign up. My phone plan is something like 2000 minutes shared with 3 people and unlimited texting. I can't use the internet or anything like that.
But last night my phone broke and I don't have a warranty on it. My boyfriend has a G1 collecting dust since he switched to the G2. When he was using the G1, he had a data plan on it. When I put my SIM card in it, it asked for my SIM password, so I put it in, and then it was working.
I just need to know if I can even use this phone without getting charged for a data plan. I turned off as many of the data-related settings as I could.
ANY help would be appreciated. Will I get charged? Can I use it?
I'll choose a best answer.
