Using phone mic while connected to external speakers thru the headphone jack

I want to use external speakers (the ones I use with my laptop - not Nokia, local manufacture) to hear calls and music but want to use the phone (E63) mic to talk.

When I connect the speakers I can hear the sound on the speakers but my mic gets deactivated.

Is there a solution to this?

PS. As soon as I connect the speakers E63 shows connect to a headset. Is there a way that it should change the enhancement to headphones or music stand?

When I plug in either speakers or headphones without microphone I always get the option of the following:

Headphones
Lineout
TV-Out cable
Music Stand

When I select music stand or headphones which are the only ones I have selected I get a message to use the phone microphone.

I received these messages on the N86, the X6 and the 5800
 
^ it's weird because that popup is not consistent with all phones. on my n97 and when my 5800 had c6 fw, it just automatically chooses the headset
 
Really? I just tested on my old 5800 with the latest fw and it definitely asks me to select among these 4 options if I use a regular audio headset. However if I use a bt headset with microphone or the wired headset that the phone came with it defaults to handsfree and a headset icon and in my car it defaults to handsfree with a car icon.
