Using Multiple Expansion Cards

Hi. I have a Palm TX. Is there a way to use multiple SD cards for the TX?
What I mean is...
I would like to perhaps use one SD card for my videos only
and another for music, and another one for games...
OR any combination of any programs.
And would it be easy to access each by just inserting each SD card with harming anything else?

I've never tried it for fear of accicdentally deleting the programs of my original SD card if i try to experiment.
Please advice.
Thank you.

When using multiple cards ( and as Johnling stated it's perfectly ok and probably expected and desired on the part of the Card manufacturers), I would recommend that you format each card in the TX before adding anything on it. You can use a card reader/writer to transfer files to it but I think you'll be happier in the long run if you format the card in the TX before hand.

It will set it up for FAT32 file system which makes better use of the card and not all Palm's can read FAT32 so the card may not be formatted to the device, right out of the box.

And if I have to tell you how to format the card.....then I take back everything I said about being able to use multiple cards. :D

Sorry for this question, I'm completely ignorant...but what do you mean by 'formatting the card in the tx'? how would someone do that?

From the Palm launcher: tap on card info (need a card in the slot) and then hit menu - you'll see the option to "format card" there. Now - doing so will erase everything that's on the card so this process needs to be done once before adding anything to the card.

You can also rename the card and see valuable information from this "Card Info" screen...such as who really made the card. There are really only 3 card manufacturers, SanDisk, Toshiba and Panasonic - most other brands are simply badges from these manufacturers.

Personally, I don't use SanDisk anymore unless it's an UltraII card. Have had problems with their older cards. I prefer Toshiba made but that's not to say anything against Panasonic.

Yes, I have read that chapter on the Palm Website. Since they don't use the term 'formatting' the card, I didn't know that what this poster was referring to was one and the same thing.

Thanks, Moose
