Using Graphite on a T3 ?

Hello All .........

My T3 seems to "stick" or at least not move as smoothly as I would like to see.

Has anyone ever tried putting graphite on it? Obviously I wouldn't want to put a liquid type solution (oil, etc...) on it. But I was thinking that graphite might not be a bad idea?

Any thoughts?

For those not familiar with deep electronics stuff, graphite is a really good conductor. Don't believe me, get a graphite fishing rod and stick it in a light socket... :) Seriously, I would not use graphite as a lube on any handheld device. I have seen people temporarily fix bad circuit runs on a board using nothing more than a No. 2 pencil.

On the other hand, I have heard some people around suggest turtle wax, or another paste like that.

Nice ..............

I might as well have taken my shoes off in January and shuffled my feet around on a shag carpet and then touch my finger tip to my T3 !!!

Also, I have noticed that screen protectors definitely have an effect on how well the smoothness or no smoothness of the PDA...
Just a thought....

If you're talking about the SLIDER mechanism, you don't want it too loose. If it's overly sticky, as mine was:

Take about one DROP of Silicone Spray or WD40 and apply it to a TISSUE PAPER, not the slide itself. I used silicone. Rub inside the slide channels, let dry, reapply. Work mechanism, reapply small "wipe essence" of WD40. Wipe excess. Done.

Screen Protectors: paste car wax. rub in well, reapply to screen protector AND stylus tip, remove. Like glass and FAST; graffiti recognition better, too and the hazing of worn screen protector is partially removed - they last longer. Do that every 2 weeks and you'll make less writing errors.

I also repeated the WD40 thing on the two exterior "hooks" of the cradle except used "OneLube." I don't want to hear from anyone who puts a BLOB of it on their cradle and fries something . . . about a needle-head's worth is sufficient, and put the T3 on and off the cradle a couple of times and remove what should be a MINUTE SMALL EXCESS.

You've been warned - but since you asked - yes, you can "free things up a bit" using a MINUTE amount of silicone (which evaporates the carrier and is probably safer) or WD40.

Of course, if that fails just soak the whole thing in 10-30 for two weeks. I'm kidding.
