Using Dish remote for my Bell 2700?

I bought a dishnetwork 5.0 remote, expecting it to control my bell 2700 receiver. It controls my tv fine, but I can in no way make it control my 2700 receiver. Is there anything I can do to make it work??

You have to set the remote to the same "Remote Address" as the receiver.

1) Get to the system information screen. You can do this by turning the 2700 on and pulling the Smart Card.
2) Press RECORD. The "remote address" should be programmed into the receiver and will show on the screen.
Put the smart card into the receiver and it will reboot, when it does your remote should now control it.
The 2700 has a variable output for sound, your should go into the menu and shout that off, it is for older TV's that didn't have remote capabilities.
