Using ASP .NET 2.0 is there a way to have a website display YES or NO in a form

field if an app is running? I need a hidden form field in the website that will populate with anything (ie., "YES") if a certain .exe process is currently running locally on the user's pc. Is this possible? Thanks. I am using asp vb.net 2.0
