Using a verizon phone on Alltel

I'm a bit new to these forums and after doing a search couldn't find an answer to my question. Currently I have a contract with the portion of the Alltel network that is eventually going to be absorbed by AT&T. I'm interested in picking up an Android phone (either the Incredible, Droid X, or Fascinate when it comes out) and I'm wondering if anyone is aware of how to unlock one of these phones to use on the Alltel network and what the consequences of such an endeavor might be?
 
Alltel is CDMA, right? If a CDMA phone comes to you through a network provider, I presume it comes locked and can only be unlocked by that provider -- unlike GSM. But I don't know about buying a CDMA phone outside the network. Have a look at this:

Thanks for the information. It sounds to me like if it can be done at all, doing it on a CDMA network is something that is more difficult than I am willing to attempt.
