Using a honda engine in a powerwasher for a water pump?

Hello,

I was wondering, I have this honda engine in this powerwasher, and was wondering if it is possible to hook it up to a waterpump for a cottage? If so what essentially needs to be done?
What sort of hookup would I need?

Depends on the specs of the engine of the water pump. The engine's output speed and torque capability would have to match the pump's input speed and torque requirements.

If that works, it's just a matter of connecting the two. Depending on the pump and the engine, you may be able to find a bell housing and coupler pre made to bolt on. Magnaloy is one company that builds these. Drive Products is a distributer in Canada, and I believe Motion Industries carries it in the US.

If not, they would have to be mounted on a base (shafts properly alligned), and a coupler or short couple driveshaft inbetween. (keep in mind the allignment specs are different for different couplers and driveshafts).
