So I have an idea for an action-adventure game and then a cartoon series. The original game would have this standard and flat character, who is there only to represent the player. He fights with a weapon and this game is meant to set a basic foundation for the rest of the continuities, and focuses more on gameplay than plot.
In the tv series, it would have the same plot, but everything is more in-depth and take place in an alternate universe, carrying the same elements and reincarnations of some game characters. The main protagonist would have a real name, super speed over a weapon (the game hero used super speed a few times) and would be developed as his own, independent character.
The protagonists look almost exactly identical and I used the original as sort of a prototype to base the fleshed out character from, though the original is primarily your standard playable character.
Would this work okay? Would fans not like it if I did this?
