portrait shots-how does it fire ? Last night in class, my teacher was showing us some diferent accessories for mounted flash, such as little softboxes, and then started to show us a bracket, so that your flash is then on top of your lens and not to the side of the lens when you are shooting portrait style shots. I wasn't paying alot of attention at the time and was a bit distracted (I've got a baby at home who just had surgery) So, anyways I never thought to ask .. if the flash is not mounted directly on to the camera, how is it going to fire ? Would I need to buy a speedlite transmitter (canon, since i shoot with canon)
