User Dictionary and Typing

I'm used to using the Nokia Predictive Text, where if you enter a word it does not recognise it adds it in so that it will be able to predict it the next time you use it.

However, now I'm using Android, I find that if I enter a word it does not recognise, it doesn't automatically add it to the user dictionary, and therefore the next time I come to use that word, it still comes up as unexpected, and sometimes it will automatically replace by a word it thinks you meant to write.

I'm aware that there is a User Dictionary which you can add words to manually but I don't like the idea of having to manually list every word I may ever use out of the default dictionary.

Is there any way I can get it to add words I use to the User Dictionary automatically as I enter them?

Excellent. Thanks for the speedy response.

I'm noticing a trend here, most of the questions posted on here are answered with the above. It's the one thing people forget to try.

It's the HTC Magic, not the G1 so it came with Cupcake anyway.

Wow thanks for the tip.

My problem now is I can't get it to put in the letter "i" when I am typing "i" by itself... it keeps doing "h" and I even added "i" and "I" in the dictionary like why won't it take this from the dictionary?

And other 2 letter words sometimes it won't put first as my option.
