Used Toyota Echos? Any Thoughts?

I am looking to buy a used car. I have heard some good things about Toyota Echos and am looking at models from 1999 onwards. Does anyone know if they are a good choice or can anyone give me any suggestions. I have a budget of around 8,000 AUD?
 
Not a bad choice, you should be able to get one with low miles.
Or one with higher miles for alot less. Research at edmunds.com
