Used road bikes... How Much? 10 POINTS!?

Looking to buy a used road bike at a local bike shop. I am going to use it for daily exercise (6 miles a day, 30 miles a week). My exercise routine involves trekking only on paved surfaces but includes a lot of uphill and downhill (eeek) parts. Therefore, I really need a reliable bike. How much do you think I am looking to spend?
 
Check out the local Ebay and Craig's list first or even the local Goodwill or Salvation Army stores. I have seen older Bianchi road bikes at the Goodwill store for $8 each. Six miles is a warm up ride for most people. The most important thing when buying a bike is getting the correct size. Take your inseam X .65 X 2.54 = frame in cm's
