I had a pu$$y whipped friend recently who i showed newsgroups due to his interest in easy obtainable adult related stuff 
In order to hide the purchase from his wife he mailed his payment in cash for his account and his wife is none the wiser. Everything worked out okay and he is up and running. I think cash or money order or something is a bit more anonymous than even a prepaid card.
