how can i transfer files from my PC [Windows XP] to a USB Flash Drive?
PC- Windows XP

there was just a sound when i plugged the flash drive in
no pop-ups or any dialog boxes.

nothing. i even checked My Computer.

plug the flash drive into the usb port on your computer. make sure before you do this to check if there is a switch on the drive. if there is, make sure it is set to the "unlocked" position, otherwise you won't be able to add files to it.

once it's plugged in, it should run automatically. choose "open folder" from the list that appears. if no list appears, open up "my computer" and it should appear as a new drive on your computer.

once you have located the drive as a folder on your computer, it's as easy as clicking and dragging a file from your computer to the flash drive's folder. this will add a copy to the flash drive AND keep the original file on your computer.

once everything has copied, remove the flash drive from the computer and you're on your way.
