USB 2.0 Flash Drives are not recognised on my PC?

I have bought 2 flash drives and a multi card reader all of which are USB 2.0 but my computer (HP Pavilion) does not recognise them or the drive (:J) that other flash drives (USB 1) work perfectly well in. What if anything can I do to make the new flash drives work?

It's possible that USB2.0 is disabled in BIOS, but you need to be familiar with the BIOS setup routine to change that. If your computer hardware is not up to USB2.0, you need a new one.
