US Government compared to a business

A business run by a couple has far more expenses than revenue, it is financial unstable and a net loss. Things are so financially bad, they can't afford their home and move into the business offices, using the business faucet to wash themselves every morning.

Looking at examples of how families would be forced to cost cuts and be responsible, and how people compare that to the federal government, what would you do?

Cut spending, live within your revenue means, like a family and government should apparently do?

Run deficits, destroying your home life and refusing to pay off all the financial obligations you owe, or even reduce the nuraber of financial obligations you are incurring?

stringing them along on an unsustainable business is not helping them, it's hurting them.

the pain occurred because you don't know how to run your business, not because you will be letting them go...

generally i think most govt programs should be run like a business but programs like defense and welfare will always be money pits but they can never be cut totally, the safety of citizens goes above all else.

start by totally cutting programs that send out money outside like all aid to other countries, stop the wars, get out of the regime change business in other countries and work on the unfair trade problem we have

Dopes who said to cut back and not push forward: you just killed Whole FooRAB Market, and would have screwed yourself and your employees out of a Forbes 500 company

logic is equivalent to saying, would you pay 500$ for a lottery ticket? and then when the person says no, you call them an idiot and point to an article citing a person wining the lottery after buying 500 dollars in tickets.

if every single debt financed company turned into a Forbes 500 company (or even more than a small fraction of them), you might start to have a point.
