I am a 19 almost 20 year old college student for medical. i am talking to a recruiter about joining and being apart of my school's ROTC program to become a officer. However beacues i want no issues i did tell them that i had a attempted suicide in 2001 (when i was 12 years old) I was never on any medication but i was put into the hospital as a precaution to supervise me for 2 days. When i got out i took no medications nor did i ever have any other issues or problems concerning health mental or physical. The teachers and recruiter are very positive about the entire situation they are talking like a waiver would be no issue sense i am obviously not suicidal. They pretty much said once they send me to their psychotherapist doctor and i took a mental evaluation and if i passed then i should be perfectly fine. and there is no reason why i SHOULDNT pass because i have no mental health issues so any test given i should pass.
i am also paying 550 to a local doctor to get a mental evaluation in order to obtain a second opinion as well.. just for a back up =).
i was wondering... your opinion is it impossible. ..because the recruiter and ROTC teacher (captain) are talking like its no big deal.. like as long as i pass the eval i should be good to go
