us army special forces selection: what kind of chance does my husband have?

my husband's been in the army for three years now and just got back from iraq. he's in amazing shape because the only thing they have to do over there is workout.
he is leaving for sf selection soon and i'm curious how it all works. i know it's three weeks and it's exhausting etc etc. i'm pretty certain he's not going to quit halfway through, he's very dedicated, so if he's there at the end of the three weeks what are his chances?
also, i've heard a lot about a gate system? what exactly is it?

getting through selection is extremely difficult, but it is very possible. Most of the washouts occur after selection, remember special forces training is about 80 continuous weeks of training, alot of people are just so mentally exhausted that they just cant make it through. As long as your husband is motivated and wont quit its a good possibility he will make it.

going off of statistics: 10-20% chance. big part of that is the YOU factor though (few things arent, like injuries etc etc) and since i dont know your hubby i cant say.
