Urns? This is going to sound really weird but....?

My neighbor is 94 years old and she lives alone. She had one daughter , that's it, and she killed herself a long time ago. She had a dog that she owned for 16 years, it was like her baby. The dog just died last week ( well she had to put her down, it was suffering ) and she it beyond grief stricken. Anyway I had taken a photo of the dog ( cam out beautifully, up close shot..and blew it up and framed it for her. Well anyway she had her dog cremated and they gave her her ashes in a box, she said she wish they gave her a urn. Anyway I'd love to get her a small one but am on a tight budget, is there anywhere I can find such a thing? One for a dog? BTW- I know this sounds weird but this dog was her life...it was all she had.

You might ask the place where the body was cremated. They might have a catalog with choices.

I had my beloved beagle Bacall cremated after we had to put her down in 2007. Her ashes came in lovely cedar box. And we were given a small catalog if we wanted addition things. Such as a urn, name plate etc. And most were not that expensive.

But no it is not weird. Many people have their dogs ashes in urns or nice boxes. My sympathies go out your neighbor. It can be such a difficult thing to lose a beloved pet. But it is so nice that you care so much.

Try Petco or Pet Smart thought I saw some when I was there last time. Pet stores are offering more and more products of this type. What a thoughtful thing for you to do.

IDK where you can get one cheap. Did you try googling it? Check Ebay. maybe even craft websites. Like etsy.com or crobbies.com.
But its not weird at all. When our dog died my mom was so distraught. We bought her a urn pendant that could hold some ashes.

Ebay has a wide selection of urns-probably the cheapest place to go, but many vets and human funeral homes sell pet urns, too. My vet provides one with every cremation.

My dog came back to me in a real nice rosewood box. My vet had her done for us but we are freinds of his. Her Name was Rosi hence the rosewood box. Try perfectpetmemorials.com
