I am not sure of the exact specifics of what is recomended before surgery, but I would recomend that you have whoever prescribes your suboxone to speak with the dr. performing surgery. This way the two doctors can discuss what course of action to take. good luck to you.
The only way you can get that answer is to have your prescribing doctor talk with you surgeon and the two of them will work up a pre-op and post-op plan for you.
Regardless as to whether the medical community is clueless or not...you need to remeraber that it is Your responsibilty to make sure this is taken care of before your surgery, not your doctors. So make sure you get all of your docs on the same page so that you'll be taken care of.
