Upstairs, Downstairs

I was very disappointed.

Not any where near as good as "Downton Abby" or the original
UP/Downstairs series.

I didn't watch either one of the others, so I'm not disappointed and
this one is looking very good, but I need subtitles and a foreign
phrase translator.

From what I got out of the opening episode, it's the original maid who
is head housekeeper by the end of the hour and the MIL was her
"mistress" in the original series. Old guard, new guard. I'm setting
the DVR to record just in case I don't remember to watch. Hubby says
it's only a series of three for now. I bet they want to see what kind
of viewership they can build up before committing to the long term.

No, Rose's original mistress went down on the Titanic. She does not
know the new owners of 165 Eaton Place.

Thanks for filling me in. It looked like she knew the MIL from "way
back". The MIL did say she hadn't been in England for 30 years, but
that didn't mean diddly to me.

I thought the second show in the 3 part series even worse than the first.

I wont deny that other peoples sex lives hold some vague and waning
interest for me, but NOT fictional characters sex lives.

Porn of what ever sort, no matter how soft or hard core often reminds me
of t.v. cooking shows. While a cooking show can be entertaining and
even educational i would rather be in the kitchen cooking than watching
some one else do it on t.v.

The only reason im even considering watching the next is that the 1937
Abdication is at least mentioned.

Not exactly the sinking of the Titanic but still......I imagine its some
sort of dig at the Duchess of Windsor.

One character seems very Unity Mittford to me.
