ups/dwnstrs; why rehash that?

I presume you're referring to Downton Abbey?

So, no show can ever again follow the lives of the servants and rich living in one house, because it'll therefore be a rehash?

I think there's been a sufficient length of time since Upstairs/Downstairs for people to enjoy a new envisioning of the premise, but with a new set of characters and stories.

Actually, having seen Downtown Abbey, It's good. I was actually thinking of the rumoured projected rehash of UD itself, if that is on the way. Downtown Abbey is quite good. But why redo UD at all. the one I remember from the time is fine as it was.

Was it really that much of an effort to spell it right in the thread title?

I think it'll be really good. The BBC are doing it, the kings or period drama, and Cranford writer Heidi Thomas is writing it so it's got pedigree working on it.

If you don't like the idea of it then don't watch it.

ups/dwnstr ?? I thought UPS had left a parcel downstairs when I read the title ? Why not have a full title then maybe more would be posting ,

Aahh, I see!

As another poster pointed out, though, it's not technically a rehash, since it's a continuation of the series rather than a do-over. I'm not quite sure how it will work, but it should be interesting!

I've only ever seen the original in re-runs, and I think a revival of it will be a good thing for people who originally watched the show, as well as a new generation of fans.
