I've been on buspar (actually, the generic) since Deceraber, with great results. However, lately I feel like my anxiety is getting worse and the buspar isn't working as well. I dread going to the doc because I am afraid she will want to put me on something else and I really like the buspar. I am on 30mg a day, and am wondering if upping the dosage to 45mg would help. Has anyone ever taken buspar, had the effect wear off, so upped the dosage with better results?

I'm not sure if I'm going to be of much help here, however, I was on Buspar for a short bit. I didn't like the side effects at all, and switched back to Lexapro. Buspar made me really depressed, for the first time in my life. Kinda freaked me out, but I'm glad its working for you! Anyway, getting to the point, my doctor only prescribed the Buspar for a four week period, leading me to believe it is not a long term medication, such as the Lexapro's, and Zoloft's and such. You may be right, your doctor may want to switch you, for that reason. Just a little something to bring up at your appt.
