I have a UGI Endo on Tuesday and I am scared that I will not be able to breath because of the nurabing of throat and tongue. I know it is not real, but you cannot help it. I am hoping the sedative may make me not care.
I was at the dentist and he nurabed the tooth and the tongue felt awful, I had to stop them from what they were doing so I could swallow. I hope it is not like this at this UGI procedure.
 
I have the same problem at the dentist, but with the endoscopy I didn't remeraber a thing. You might want ask if you will have that kind of sedative.

Going to the dentist is a lot worse than having the endoscopy, I promise. I hate having those shots in my gums and feeling my face paralyzed!

You will receive IV sedation for your endoscopy and will not remeraber anything about the endoscopy. Let them know beforehand if you know you are allergic to some type of anesthetic.

My endoscopy was not stressful. I don't remeraber a thing and it was well worth the money I had to spend in it (I have bad insurance) in exchange for my peace of mind.

Discuss your concerns with the staff beforehand and I am sure you will be reassured.

I had mine done about a month ago and omg it was so nothing to worry about. And believe me I freak at Every kind of procedure. It was so easy and went off without any problems. I can't have the nurabing throat spray and even not having that didn't bother me. Good luck
 
I had the Upper Endoscopy today. I was very anxious when they were preparing me for it. Once I was at the room where the procedure was going to take, I didn't even know what happened. I went down and when I woke up it was all done. TG.
Summary: Inlet patch just below the upper sphincter, a hiatus hernia found and LES did not close tightly. Normal stomach, normal duodenum and panbiopsies taken.
Let's hope they come back normal.
The doctor game me Zegerid and I took one already. I feel much better from the acid.
