uploading photos from my Motorola Crush onto my computer?

I have the connection cable,and whenever i plug it in to upload photos, my computer gives a message thats says "device driver software was not successfully installed". it then tells me to update widows and manually install the software, which i tried without any success. This is very annoying :/
