upgrading my cx65

hi lads i currently have sw-version 14 variant B 100 (which according to seimens sit is orange) my phone is unlocked and i have an o2 sim .if i update the firmware using the same variant will the phone be locked again?
Also I noticed most of the patches seem to be for version 25 not version 43.The only version 25 on there site is for t-mobile.
so what firmware should i be putting on the phone?
 
First, flashing will not lock that phone,

As for variants, for ex: B 100 means it is Orange branded phone and it has v43 firmware and language pack 01 !

If it was B 200, it would have lang pack 02 (but such firmware does not exist, just for example) !

Just download your variant and update !

if i put vesion 43 on the phone will i be able to still patch it to say enable devmenu also i read i should use atenable (what advantage does this give over doing it the way siemens web site says (press *#9999# on your keypad)cheers

Yeah, why not. DevMenu can be activated on any firmware. There is other way to enable it insted of patching. You have to simply put ServiceKey to phone. And then just put it on some of softkey or on your keypad.
 
ok i ran the cx65430100.xbz.exe and during the transfer of the file to the phone the transfer aborted due to corrupt image ..Now the phone will not turn on ...help
 
well i tried the fix phone procedure and it looks like my epprom files havre gone and the bootcore is corrupted.I managed to flash phone with stt
cx65_v16_lg5.bin and i can now get into service mode but i am now stuck
 
Did you have a backup of the original EEPROM? Without that, it's very hard to get the phone back into it's original condition.

Do you at least know what the bootkey is?
 
ok i know the boot key and using papua i have managed to write a new bootcore but when i go to service mode and the copy imei from code page and try freeze it tells me phone urity setting is in customermode and not factory mode ..
 
I tried to send it skey but it does not work could it have changed due to me writting a new bootcore ? Is ther a way of using a test point to put it in factory mode or can is ther a util which will allow me to write my old data to a full flash and then re flash with winsup .
 
well i think i totaled it now as it just beeps and wont talk with pc at all.
good job i was given it for nothing ..anyway thanks for all the help .
 
Wel i got the phone back to day they replaced the main board and it only cost 30 euros but they locked it back to orange so i unlocked it and now have left it in factory mode but can not figure out how to get devmode
how do put it on some of softkey or on your keypad.
