So on a limb, i upgrade my factory speakers in my car. So far it sounds great, but 1 problem. My new speakers push 160 watts max, and theres 4 of them. My car only pushes 90 watts all together. How can I hook up amplification so that my speakers are reaching there full potential? I have a 400 watt amp But how do i hook it up to my factory speakers. Can this be done without re-wireing my whole vehicle? some one please help !!!!!
the only way the amp can be used is with rca cables and the ones coming from my cd player are hooked up to my big amp that is pushing my subs can i by a y cable/ and can it be hooked up by The high imput? i have no idea what a high imput is

where is the amp going? in the trunk, good
i would disconnect the rear speakers and patch the wires straight to the amp with connectors then behind the deck tie the rear speaker wire to the front speakers, now the deck power is not used at all.

then just wire the amp rear directly to the rear speakers, this should keep you from the pesky task of pulling trim to run new wire under the carpet.

this is if you have a sedan where the amp will be mounted close to the rear speakers and the car does not have a factory amp.

if you have questions just add details.
