Starting October 24 (tentative date for Storm 2 release as well) Verizon Wireless will be adding a couple of features to their line up...the most notable one is Upgrade Protection.
Cost per month-$6.99
This feature will allow you to upgrade AT ANYTIME during your contract. You will also be able to claim your new every two credit for this upgrade. You can upgrade twice in one contract term with this feature. You get the New Two Year Pricing + your upgrade discount. In addition, if you fulfill a full two year agreement, your New Every Two discount will double when eligible.
You can also add "Upgrade for Families" which is $25 per month added to the total cost of the family plan. It will allow you to upgrade up to three lines whenever they're contract is 4 months to expire. You also get the upgrade discount that the primary line gets for the other two devices as well!
Fine Print to both of the plan additions above:
The phone you choose to use the Upgrade Protection for must have been released at least two weeks prior to you upgrading to it. The upgrade protection becomes a locked feature ones you use it once. This means, if you upgrade one time (before two years is up) and claim the new every two discount, you become unable to remove the feature (upgrade protection) until the date that you were originally supposed to upgrade. Also, the feature must be on the account 30 days before you can take advantage of it.
