Hey gang.

I just got a used treo600 and it was already flashed and working with cricket. the only draw back was my text messages would come in black or not at all.. This tre looks to be originally for sprint service.

So I searched the innerwebs and found some topics about updating the software to verizon to fix this problem...

So like an idiot i go to palms web site and download the prc file for verizon... the original software was sprint 5.12 (i think) via hot sync manager.

The upgrade for verizon went smooth and the treo 600 reboot. at that time i noticed i could no longer dial out on cricket because the software update over wrote most of the settings.. So i attempted to go back to sprints software but it said it was not compatible with this device. I also tried the generic unlock software from palms web site and get the same error.

Did i totally destroy my phone or is there any chance to get this to work with cricket again?

Thanks for any help you can give me

I took it to a cricket dealer that said he could flash any phone. So I requested a full flash. The guy ended up saying he couldnt flash it do to a corrupt file or something.

Any ideas? IS it possible for me to do this myself?

Is there a way to format and then reflash?

Sorry for the noob questions...

This is too funny. I just did the same thing. The funny thing is, i did it on another Treo that I had that I have been using for over a year now.....but I dropped it so many times, I thought I would do it again. But this originally Sprint programmed phone did the same thing as yours. I overwrite the programming with the Verizone software, now I get Verizons over the air programming, which of course doesnt work. Hmmmm. I will do some research and maybe we can figure this out together.

I thought I was a mafiosa....guess not.
:crying:
