Updated Cricket coverage vs.Straight Talk coverage?

nashville, and thats what i heard too, but maybe since i had no service in the building in the first place, its not considered in the market? i dunno, i just know i have bars now!

did cricket update the power of their towers?
 
I never was a fan of The Motorola Hint for some reason every Motorola Cricket had in the past had signal issues. Samsung is the way to go if you want to purchase a cricket phone. Good Luck
 
None of those options worked for me. I guess the website just doesn't support straight talk as a carrier yet. They will though. ST is gaining popularity like crazy. I will probably keep my ST phone til the end of eternity.

Has anybody tried roaming or long distance w/ ST? I'm not sure how that works. The only long-distance people I know are in the area code next to me, and ST lets me call them just fine. I havn't tried calling a different state or any such thing.
 
i don't see how straight talk is gaining popularity... i had them for 6 months and got tired of the constant issues, and dropped calls where i had full bars! coverage isn;t their issue... they have great coverage, but there must be some kind of glitch between them and verizon because even when i have full bars, it will drop calls and sometimes i wouldn;t even be able to make a call... plus there seems to be a large issue with yelling... i had to basically yell when i was on the phone, but other people were having that issue on differnt phone models...

i switched back to cricket cause their reliable and can actually fix problems...

Thanks, Ryan. In markets served by BOTH Cricket and Sprint, do you only get access to the Cricket towers? Or do the Sprint towers fill any Cricket coverage gaps within the market? And when you make a call using those Sprint towers, does it use up roaming minutes?
 
i can tell you that if your on the sprint coverage, it doesn;t take away from your roaming. look on the coverage map, dark green is all unlimited coverage, the light green is roaming and thats where those minutes will be used.



my question, is if i have money in my flex bucket, not dedicated to roaming minutes, so i just put it in my account, if i go into a roaming area, do i have to ask cricket to use that money for roaming, or will it automatically deduct the money when i make calls?

With regarRAB to your Flex Bucket funRAB, you do not have to dedicate funRAB to roaming minutes. Cricket Wireless customers can use their Flex Bucket or pre-purchased roaming minutes to use Cricket service in roaming areas. Flex Bucket balance is used to pay for roaming minutes a la carte -Nationwide Roaming minutes at $0.39 per minute.

This is interesting. I didn't know that ST couldn't do 3-way calling, but then again I haven't tried it for the reason I guess I don't need it. But I might consider switching if Cricket actually had a Full QWERTY keyboard phone.
And the Cricket MSGM8 doesn't count.
 
Thanks Cricket_Ryan I did go put in my email address to let me know when they become available. I will be interested in seeing the price of the phones. Namely the sanyo zio by kyocera but if the current prices on the phones for as basic as they are indicate any thing, I'm sure these two new ones are going to be a bit pricey.
 
well i have to agree with the other person straight talk is up there, 2 new smart phones to boot, i had cricket for 9 years, being a single parent and trying to save a buck or so i thought and in the end with cricket i was paying 69.?? and couldnt use my phone at all if i had to leave town, there was even the roaming minites on my fone, and it was triband but still not good trying to make calls, now i pay 32.20 a month and have a better phone with GREAT service,cricket has that 15.00 to reconnect, i can forget to buy my card for straighttalk, NO CHARGE! up and going as soon as i add my new pin.i dont loose my nuraber, its just grate, but let me tell you something, if you dont *228 your phone every now and then, your sure to have problems, but this only works with cdma cell phones not gsm, gsm phones have to be turned off and back on, nite to all. l
