I had my appt this morning with a spine specialist. First of all, the MRI cd i picked up from the hospital turned out to be blank. So, we had to just go off what the actual written reports stated. Anyways, he spent about 5 minutes with me and said... "this doesn't fit the characteristics of anything ive seen" ... "the hemangioma is an incidental finding, no way the cause of your pain, i suggest you go back to your family doctor and have a full internal work-up done" ....I am 23 years old, 5'1 90lbs. I personally, do not think slight retrolisthesis, slight DDD, Schmorls Nodes, and a hemangioma (in the exact spot where my pain is) is nothing. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Follow your gut instincts and go get another opinion. Don't put your faith into one doctor. Also it could not hurt to have a complete work up done by your family doctor so that you know everything else has been ruled out.

Good luck.

I have a hemangioma in my T10 with dull back pain..i thought i had kidney stones. It was getting more painful with each year till I went to see the doctors and they sent me to John Hopkins in Baltimore. I have had two Vertebroplasy to the area and seem to be doing better. If the hemangioma keeps getting larger they will have to remove my T10 (so they say ). I would find another doctor to have another look at it, I use to get so mad/upset with my back, they place me on Zoloft. Not much only 50mg a day seem to help been on that for over 3 years now. I know what you're going though, been there myself, just keep your headup and let the doctors know how you feel without flipping out on them ;) . Good luck.
