Hi everyone,
I hope you all have a good week-end. My youngest daughter is coming home for the week-end and I'm very excited to see her!
Well....only about 5 more days and I should be completely off the Cyrabalta. The first week was pretty intense and I had significant withdrawal symptoms. It has gradually decreased and now the symptoms are more of a nuisance than anything else. Intermittant nausea, a little dizziness here and there, mild buzzing in my head. Nothing major. I'm hoping that the symptoms will not get worse once I am off completely.
The pain...has been fairly bad. I think the Cyrabalta was helping some. I'm just taking more pain meRAB to get me through.
I see the neurologist next week (Wed) and hopefully he can find some meRAB to help more with the nerve pain. I was going to ask him about Topomax. I know some of you have had good results with that.
Good news....bad news....the PT has released me! She feels that she can't help anymore. : ( The right leg continues to show a 25%-50% deficit from the nerve damage despite many months of PT.
I'll update you after I see the neurologist next week.

Deb

Hi Deb,

Glad to hear your withdrawal is going OK. And I hope the neurologist will know just what to suggest for you that will deal with the pain you're having.

Is your daughter away at college?

Hope you have a great weekend.

xx Marlo;)

Well, that must be a big relief to be almost done with the Cyrabalta. So then you can start on something else, right? I hope it goes well! Let us know what the neuro says.

Have a lovely, relaxing weekend with your daughter. I'm glad you're past the worst of the withdrawals before she's here.

Blessings,
Emily

Thanks MM...my daughter is actually married and lives about 4 hours away in Blacksburg, Va. My other daughter lives here and when we are all together we are inseparable! I'm lucky that my daughters are also my best frienRAB!

Thanks Emily...yes, by coming off the Cyrabalta apparently it will allow me to try some other nerve meRAB that would interact with it. The visit with the neuro can't come soon enough...the pain is getting pretty rough! I'm just hoping we can find the right corabo of meRAB so I can avoid the spinal cord stim.

Hello, deb...I am glad to hear the good news! I am so thankful that you are almost completely off of the Cyrabalta...I pray that the doctor will give you medication that will help with your pain. It sounRAB like you are gearing up for a great weekend! I am also anxiously awaiting your neurosurgeon appointment next Wednesday, also. Whenever a meraber posts that they are awaiting an important appointment, I feel as if I am waiting along with them! I am so sorry that the physical therapy didn't help you...I know the feeling! The physical therapy that I did for my lower lurabar spine actually made me worse! My internal medicine doctor told me before he re-located to actually discontinue any physical therapy and avoid chiropractors...Thank you again, for the awesome update!

Deb,
I am glad for you good news! I don't think releasing you from PT is a bad news too. Unfortunatelly not much they can do for us after a while.
After my first fusion surgery i was in PT for 8 month. And only for one reason: they had warm water walking pool. But PT itself was: ice/heat, stretches, some little bike - that is it.
I could do it at home easily. This time my surgeon does not want me on PT before 3 month after surgery. I am only 6 weeks after second one.
But i still do my upper body free weights, walking... walking is the best thing for us.
So don't worry about this, just feel better...
Continue a good work, mama!!!:)
