does anyone know when the next t mobile android phone with a qwerty is comng out i have a g1 but im seeing all these new phones but none are on t mobile and the ones on t mobile are all touch and i hate the cliq

I'm still waiting to see if a G2 will ever come...with all these awesome phones coming to tmobile I hope they pull a sneaky sneaky and come out with a sexy fast memory packed device we can dub the G2.....we can all dream =)

T-Mobile where? T-Mobile UK already has the G2. The HTC Hero is called the G2 here.

I agree - a hardware keyboard is nice. You may want to consider a Motorola Droid (also called the Milestone everywhere else). It's currently the best Android phone with a keyboard. You probably can't get it on T-Mobile though.

There is also a rumour of an "enterprise version of the Nexus One" which may have a real keyboard. Again - probably not on T-Mobile though.

If you weigh up how much it costs to go SIM free (buy a phone not on a contract) you may be surprised.

Take my G1 here in the UK for example:

Initial cost on contract: ?120
18 month contract: ?20 per month = ?360
Selling phone via phone recycling website: ?-100
Total cost over 18 months: ?380

Had I bought it SIM free (no contact:
Cost of handset: ?250
Cost of contract ?5 less due to not getting new phone: ?15 per month = ?270
Recycle price: ?-100
Total cost over 18 months: ?420

So it would have only been ?40 more, spread over 18 months (that's ?2.20 a month) had I bought it on Amazon.

Just buy a high class SD card for now.
A good QWERY will come alone eventually, or we'll brick our g1's and then force ourselves to adapt a new one.

It's also worth noting, that quite a few people on the forums who've said they'd only consider a phone with a keyboard, have found the virtual keyboard on the Nexus One very good. There are some big improvements in Android 2.1 over previous versions, and also the bigger screen makes it much easier to hit the correct key.

There's also an keyboard coming out for Android soon called Swype which looks very promising. You just vaguely try and slide your finger over the virtual keyboard attempting to roughly hit the letter you want, and it figures out through a clever prediction system what you're trying to write, even if you completely miss the key you were aiming for. This makes it potentially much faster than a normal keyboard (no need to take your finger off the keyboard), and more accurate too... maybe...

Well, you know how it is. I read it on the internet so it must be true

Here's where I read it:

That article above cites their source as a leaked video here...

Yes, it is coming. You can download the leaked beta and use it if you have a Nexus/Droid because of the screen resolution. I've used it but, I find it annoying that it doesn't auto correct. It doesn't auto cap the first word in a sentence and it doesn't auto put in the " ' " in words. One of my text messages I sent with it said "im" and that made me feel ridiculous. You have to swype up off the keyboard to cap and then past the apostrophe to add one... Hopefully, they change that for final release.

I'm t mobile usa

And the n1 looks cool but I just need a real keybored if I got my ghands on a n1 and liked the VK then I might go with it but I go a lot of emails text and go on a lot of differant forums so I find it hard on a VK I have typed on a mytouch and also a iphone and I just wasn't feeling it
