I live in Arizona and it is like 106-116 degrees everyday and like 90 degrees at night. My horse is 3 years old and has an unusually long coat. Like 1/2 too long. he gets blanketed & has lights in his stall every winter... there is about 9 other horses at the place he is borded at right now and they all have GORGOUES sleek shiny coats with like no hair. My horse is a Sorrel and he is shinny just has long hair
He is on oil & a hoof & coat supliment that all the other horses are on. He was body clipped in march because he was so hairy & he grew all the hair right back. But none of the other horses grew hair. he couldn't escape the light, and he was blanketed plenty. I dont understand why he doesn't have a nice coat?
We bought him july of last year & his coat was just about the same. LONG!! its so drepressing. i just want him to have that sleek perfect -coated look like every other horse? any ideas? He is up to date on all his shots & wormers.
