unstable signal in unlocked iphone 3g?

i jailbroke my iphone 3g with redsn0w and unlocked it with ultrasn0w 1.2 and i have a very unstable cellphone signal. i have a legit t-mobile sim card that i pay for monthly. i cant find any answers anywhere as to why my signal is so unstable, please help :(

i have firmware 4.2.1
and baseband 6.15.00
