Unseen takes, scenes, footage from original Halloween finally getting released???

No this is every outtake from the film. The oriiginal camera negatives. So its got the alternate ending of Michael getting up and leaving, alternate intros, test footage etc. Over 45,000 feet of original film negatives. John Carptenter spoke years ago about having to reshoot a number of scenes due them changing the direction of the film when it was done........all those original scenes are here. Everything that was filmed is in those cans. Apparantly theres at least 4 takes of each scene so if it would be hours of footage if it was to be released.

excellent news but not for my bank balance having to buy another copy after multiple dvd and the bluray version i have bought.
What would be good is an all new feature length documentary on the lost and found footage with the footage available to view separately on special features instead of releasing it as special features with the film again.Since theres hours of footage it demanRAB its own release.

Its a real shame that they cant even find a company interested in it. I was thinking of suggesting the BFI over here since theyve done some amazing blu ray releases. IMO this in some ways was the first real horror film for a lot of people. Everyone has seen it. I made a thread about the wizard of oz and it being one of the most well known films ever, this film i think falls into that category albeit a different genre. At least John Carpenter has expressed some interest in it.

The only thing that might be a little bit of a problem, and this article doesnt mention it is that when i first read about it 3 years ago there were no audio tapes. There were film negatives for other films (not as popular as this) found amongst other bits and pieces and they were hoping to find the audio elements there but it seems theres no update on that yet.

They seem quite keen on getting HD transfers done and not just any old transfer. It will costs tens of thousanRAB though but even if they did it in SD they could probably fit at least 4 hours on 1 blu ray disc. They could do a 2 disc blu ray set and release everything,

I disagree, Halloween is anything but the average slasher. Unfortunately the same can't be said of the sequels or the remake, but the original is very different to most slashers. The focus is on suspense instead of gore, the teen victims all have distinct personalities, the directing is top notch and at least half the cast can act.
Friday the 13th is a better example of an average slasher.
