unrevoked?

I have downloaded the unrevoked apk to my sd card, my question is when I install it what will I need to do and what are the pros and cons of doing this? thanks in advance guys and all input is greatly appreciated!
 
a way to root w/o having to write code. there are some topics on it in this forum. just need some more info. check it out at unrevoked.com its for heros and evo.
 
there are TONS of Pro's and only a single Con. The pro's are endless addon's and ROM's and Themes and support from thousands over at xda, and the only single con is you'll loose warranty, but thats only if they can tell you rooted it, if the phone dies, or screen goes south. or something like that. How will they tell it's rooted?
 
thanks...I installed the unrevoked apk and I've noticed nothing! am I doing something wrong, or does this just give me access to root only apps? if anyone is more knowledgeable in this area and has researched this..I would greatly appreciate info! this way seems easier than actually "rooting" the phone as I have no knowledge in code.
 
The app isn't going to do anything for you except give root. You now have the ability to flag custom roms, themes, etc. and the ability to install root only apps. head over to xda developers evo section and absorb some info.
