Ewan made Young Adam worth it b/c it is a slow moving story.
But for Ewan and his naked-ness it is a must see.
 
I thought Young Adam was rated NC-17 b/c Ewan goes down on Tilda?

I saw The Pillow Book and there is a lot of penis in that movie. And it's not just Ewan's. I'm almost 19 and my eyes bulgged out at some scenes. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable showing that movie to someone under 15. I think it someone is 16+ and they're mature than it's okay cause it has a real story and it's not just about people going around being naked.
 
Nope. I was looking to rent the Unrated version but they only were renting the Rated one.

Actually, I'd have to agree, though I've never seen the film - I think they have that rating because of the full frontal.

I think Pillow Book (also with Ewan) has some graphically sexual situations, but it's not NC-17 because it's all implied (although implied rather explicitly, if you know what I mean).

I think as long as things aren't spelled out visually it will fly over the kids' heads.
So I think the best way to decide what your child should see is to know your child and what they can handle and view the movie before letting your young children see it.

That made me laugh out loud! :lol: Young Adam, I saw it months ago. Woo, now that's a film worthy of the NC-17.
 
So, I decided to watch the unrated version of the movie Bully, one day, only because my childhood friend Michael Pitt co-starred in it and I was just blown away by all of the performances. Everyone was so great in that movie! In fact, my boyfriend grew up w/ and lived on the same street as Leo Fitzpatrick, the guy who played The Hitman. I enjoyed the movie, but it will be a while till I see it again because it just shocked the hell out of me.

My boyfriend has the unrated version of Blown Away a early 90s erotic thriller starring Nicole Eggert, Corey Haim, and Corey Feldman. I liked it, and it was nice to see that they show the two Coreys naked a lot.

Unsilent Majority: I definitely agree with you about the lack of parental guidance being an issue. However, I'm not sure that it's necessary for parents to really be there all the time and/or monitor what their children watch. The problem is more that parents need to teach their kids right from wrong, teach them judgement and understanding and all that. Then even when the parents aren't there they can trust the children to make appropriate choices, or at the very least to understand their choices and the consequences.

Too many parents don't do either - they don't ever watch their kids or spend time with them and they don't ever teach them any values.
 
:lol: Thats stuff you never really paid much attention to watching it at such a young age.
