I would like to make note that there is a topic for this thread/discussion. If you post, please make it relating to that topic-- not a comment about behavior that is not happening. It's just clutter, and turns people off topic-- as it has done here. Please keep it to topic.
As for the topic at hand, I think we went through a phase where we had a lot of similar shows airing on TV that had similar styles: Trading card monster game themed shows. I've not seen it as much lately, but I'd suppose seeing numerous shows with this similar theme and style would lead to the opinion thats all we see.
While Im not a huge fan of anime, I've found Lupin III and Shin Chan to be oddly enjoyable. I don't know if it was the look of it, or what-- but it was something I'd watch if it were on. Big O reminded me of Batman, but beyond that, I don't watch a whole lot of it.
What I have found to be funny-- was parodies of anime's stereotypical big eyes-- big hair look. I also enjoyed the episode of South Park where it slipped back and forth between graphic anime and SP style. It was just different. I will say though, the same big hair/big eyes look can get old.
