I have 6 defaulted Sallie Mae private loans. After graduation they refused to consolidate the loans to make a reasonable monthly payment. So instead they wanted a little over 2000 a month. Five years later I'm getting all kinds of threats from DCS.
I have been told by several sources that since I live in the state of Texas that they CANNOT garnish wages. After researching the subject I have yet to find a good solid answer. I do understand that FEDERAL loans can be garnished from wages, but what about PRIVATE??
