Unlocking the iPhone for verizon..?

Alright, so I have a blackberry storm 1. It is one of the VERY FEW verizon phones that have a genuine sim card. I can take it out, but would it be possible, if i bought an iphone? I've had an iPod touch jailbroken around 2 weeks after the first one came out. If I could do this, it would be AWESOME! I'm strictly limited to Verizon(Family plan). all i would have to do, it get the iphone, put my verizon sim card in, then unlock it right? and everything should work? the "sim card" is a black card with a metal bar over it with the Verizon logo, that's a sim card, correct? thanks!!! I'm open to any type of jailbreaking or unlocking.

I don't think that will work since Verizon is on CDMA and AT&T is on something else (It's the way the phone communicates with the tower). Even after unlocking an Iphone the only other carrier that the Iphone is compatible with is T Mobile.

i think apple and at&t had a problem with that before, so apple sent out this massive wave or something and it destroyed all the iphones for any other carrier than at&t. just get the droid if you're gonna get a smart phone. my friend has one. it's really cool.

you cant have any other brands of phone if they aren't verizon, i tried that, but they wouldn't let me. i had to get the droid, which is actually MUCH MUCH better then iphones
