Unlocking Siemens A40 (no cable response)

Hiya,

I'm trying to unlock a Siemens A40 after a disappointing performance by the current network provider. I've tried several software packages that promised to unlock this phone to no avail. It looks as if the mobile doesn't seem to communicate via the data cable. However, the data cable works fine with a Siemens S3 mobile phone and looking at the pinout diagrams appears to be compatible with the A40.

What else can I try to unlock the A40? Do I need to enter a special code sequence to enable the data port before I can use the data cable. Does it need to be unlock over the network?

Can someone with a clue push me into the right direction?
 
Siemens a40 can be unlocked on two speeds 57600 and 115200,and I my friend try it with freia I am sure that with freia you should unlock your phone.Also check the batery voltage,beause if it is weak you will not be abble to unlock your siemens phone.

I've tried again using freia after recharging the battery over night to no avail. Below the response from freia:

TTY_OpenCOMPort : baudrate is 57600, DTR is disabled, RTS is disabled
COMM_IsBootRunning : bootcode does not seem to be running

TTY_CloseCOMPort : Closing COM1

Any other ideas?
