Unlocking a Siemens S45

I managed to unlock my Siemens SL 42 and it took about 5 seconds which was a piece of cake to do. The cable I used came from a Siemens S45. When I wanted to do the same with the S45 it wouldn't work, ie the unlock software failed to see the phone. I have tried different software but no avail. I know the S45 works perfectly because it communicates quite happily with the software installed on the PC that came with the phone.

I am really stumped as to why this wouldn't work for the S45. Maybe, the cable is designed not to allow allow unlocking to be carried out on that phone as it came with it??

Any help is really appreciated.

PS I have tried logger 403, all Siemens, Siemens S45/Me$% Tool v1.2, KSie 8 and 9 etc...
 
it is because you are using orriginal data cabel. You can unlock sl45 or sl42 with it, but not s45. You have to use non original data cabel.
 
Excuse my knowledge in this, but is this a known issue? It sounds a bit silly that you could only do it with a non original cable. I don't mind paying for the cable as long as it will work otherwise it'll be money down the drain. I would like to hear from others who have the experienced the same problem. If so, where could I get hold of such cable and what's the name of the cable? Better still would be if anyone have modified the original cable to make this work!!

you can also modify original data cabel. search thru forum for sheme.
you can use non original data cabel for everything else (just like original)...
 
irda...is that infrared? You mean that I could use the infrared to unlock the phone- how safe/ stable is that?

nope ... we just talkin' bout gprs connection by irda.
you still need a non-original kabel to unlocking & flashing.

here's how to mod an original kabel to flashable/unlockable kit (taken from ACiD's site)...
 
Non-orugunal cable is good to unlocking, but I whit this cable it's very possible that GPRS won't working. I have two cables, original siemens calbe-gprs working good, non -original - gprs not working ( and that isn't fw. problem !! )
 
My NON original serial cable works for everything, also for use S45 as modem in GPRS.
(I'm using it in this moment)

And may I know definitively if + in x4x connector goes to pin 3 or pin4?
I've always found that it goes to pin4, but as anyone tried?
I know that autoignition is a pulse on pin3, but how is IC in original cable powered if not by its wire to PIN4?

I did the modification here, it goes on PIN 4, exactly as showed in the schematic, worked perfectly
 
I have got a S45 siemens original cable, I would like to use it like a RS232 to TTL serial cable converter, but it doesn' t work, if I add your attachement, could it work perfectly?
