Unlocked T-Mobile BB doesnt work on Digicel-Jam network

I recently bought an unlocked T-Mobile BB 8100 and when I put in my SIM from Digicel-Jamaica it finds the network and has full signal however it says "Call Failed" whenever I I try to make a call and it does not ring when I call the phone. I used a SIM card from the C&W which the other provider in Jamaica and it works fine.


Would anyone be able to tell me what the problem is? and suggest any solutions.
 
After many calls I finally spoke with a BB tech at Digicel who told me that t-mobile's configuration does not allow their BB to work on
Digicel's network.

So if u are in Jamaica or I guess anywhere in the Caribbean for that matter and u are planning on using an unlocked BB from the US get a t-mobile for the c&w network and Cingular/at&t for Digicel.

If anyone knows differently they can let me know.

I had the same problem with my T-mobile BBP 8100 on the digicel network but just re-try it with the digicel sim a couple days ago and it is now working on the digicel network.

I'm having the same problem with an unlocked T-mobile BBP 8100 using a bmobile sim on a bmobile network. Thing is, phone works fine for calls, texts (local/international etc) but I'm simply unable to gain access to the internet. This not withstanding that I have a fully registered and paid up bmobile plan. NB: The bmobile reps are themselves confused. Any help here!!
 
Hello i live in the caribbean too (curacao), but i am now for weeks trying to unlock my BBl 8800 from digicel. Its like a mystery; with digicel they say they did not lock it, they got the phones locked (from cingular/ATT??) and some local unlocking comapies told me they are not unlockable...

On the internet i cant find any info on this.

Can anybody help me out?
